I have found this recipe in a raw food diet book. I am not sure if we can juice the vegetables on this diet or not, though this is a refreshing vegetarian juice for summer which does not exceed more than three vegetables.

Ingredients:

1 medium onion
12 stalks of celery
4 carrots
8-10 tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped basil
1 tsp sea salt

First juice the onion, celery, carrots, and the outer part of the tomatoes. Then blend the juice with the chopped basil in a blender (note: do not blend the basil for very long, otherwise it gets brownish) and finally add the inner seeds of the tomatoes to add some textures and crunch to the soup.

Thank you for posting this . I am thinking to add some tomato juice to it. It should be good.

Sounds good. I know that we can have onions as a free food, but somewhere I read something about cucumbers. I was thinking if I finely chopped everything instead of juicing, that this would make a decent salsa and I could use cukes for dipping. Or would that make it a fourth vegetable?

Dr. Nash has told me that I can use cukes on milk days, so I don't think this will be a problem either.

I make a yummy onion dip with the fage yogurt and onions, garlic, salt and pepper and use the onions to dip. love it!

I made the yogurt dip myself and it is so yummy, but not so sure if we can use fage yogurt. I remember I read in one of the posts a few weeks ago that Dr Nash does not recommend fage yogurt on milk days.

Yes, you can use Fage yogurt. I don't know where that idea came from....unless Dr. Nash told someone they couldn't use it themselves for some reason. I have been on the program for over 2 years and lost 84 lbs and Dr. Nash told me specifically I could use it. As long as it is whole milk yogurt and not low fat or no fat you can use it.

wow, it is great news that we can have Fage yogurt. It is the best kind of plain yogurt I have ever had.

Denyse, congrats on your weight loss :) I was just wondering how you could put up with this restricted diet for over 2 years?! You must have been very patient and disciplined I assume.

Good job 8-)

Thanks! I did may 2008-sept 2008. I lost 68 lbs in 4 months.
I usually go back twice a year for a cleansing.....makes me feel so much better. I try to stick with only fruits, veggies, fish and milk. Once in a while I sneak something good.....but I really feel better sticking with the plan. I no longer have seasonal allergies which I suffered from all my life!

Keep up the good work!
